Linnean provided sustainability consulting and process facilitation for the design of a large mixed-use development located in San Luis Potosí, Mexico. Through workshops early in the design process, Linnean, working with Bill Reed of Regenesis Group, worked with the project team to develop sustainability and health goals, including rigorous water conservation targets, and an objective to optimize outdoor pedestrian comfort. Through thermal comfort modeling, Linnean evaluated microclimates, wind flow, and outdoor thermal comfort of the proposed master plan scenarios in order to guide design decisions. This analysis was used to inform efficient building orientations that would increase comfort and optimize passive design before the master plan was finalized.
