SuAsCo Natural Climate Solutions Project

Funded through the Massachusetts Municipal Vulnerability Preparedness (MVP) Action Grant Program, Linnean partnered with BSC Group and Regenerative Design Group to support three Massachusetts municipalities in identifying high impact sites for nature-based interventions in order to support the towns’ climate resilience. The team connected with town staff, interested residents, and community organizations to learn about the resilience-related challenges facing the community. Through individual conversations and Core Team meetings, community members highlighted locations where they experience the impacts of climate change, locations that are of particular value to the community, and locations that offer specific opportunities for improved resilience.
The project team used this insight to develop place-based recommendations for land management to enhance the potential of forests, open spaces, wetlands, and soils – and the rules and regulations that shape them – to contribute to healthy, equitable, climate-resilient and thriving communities.
