Yestermorrow Environmental Impact Report

The Yestermorrow Design/Build School in Warren, Vermont hired Linnean to support their strategic planning process, which was intended to facilitate the growth of the institution while minimizing its overall environmental footprint.
Linnean’s analysis included assessing a large range of metrics for building electricity, propane, and water use, as well as on-site energy generation and waste diversion rates. Linnean also examined data for the materials used at the facilities, examining food purchasing, local material sourcing, and transportation.
Linnean delivered a comprehensive environmental report to Yestermorrow that detailed overall environmental performance, highlighting trends in resource and energy consumption over time and modeling the potential benefits of the installation of a solar-thermal system. Addressing key consumption behavior questions, the report provided a benchmark for the institution’s environmental performance and enabled the incorporation of data-driven environmental goals into the strategic planning process.
